The Powerful Ingredients of the Hemp Plant

All great CBD oil products are sourced from the raw hemp plant material. People who are educating themselves about the usage of hemp in their daily routine have came to the conclusion that CBD oil is definitely a beneficial part of their wellness routine. Hemp is the non-flowering male version of the cannabis plant while marijuana is the female (THC producing) version of the cannabis plant. While the two are in the same family, they host several different aspects. Arriving at the desired ingredients so many people love about CBD oil, the powerful ingredients in hemp have quickly become some of the most popular health and wellness inclusions into many diets.

One of the reasons this is happening in so many homes is the characteristics CBD brings into people’s lives. A main attribute is how it provides homeostasis, or a biological balance in the human body. While the human body creates its own cannabinoids called endocannabinoids (AKA, the endocannabinoid system), and, when intertwined with the ingredients of CBD oil, an intimate dance ensues, creating all sorts of benefits to the user. This article will describe several compounds in the hemp plant that come attached to the CBD oil so many people love.

#1 – Cannabidiol, AKA, CBD

The hemp plant consists of several different compounds which come with the first round of extraction from the hemp plant. The major compound which defines hemp from marijuana is an ingredient called cannabidiol. This is what most of the country knows and understands. It is on labels and products all over the country, therefore CBD is more known than the other compounds in hemp oil.

CBD is found in high levels of the hemp plant. It doesn’t create a “high” like one would receive from the marijuana plant. According to the World Health Organization, CBD also has no indication of abuse potential. Currently, CBD has been said to provide several different health benefits for the body. While there are many versions of cannabidiol provided to the public, currently the FDA has only approved one called Epidiolex which can help with epilepsy like Dravet syndrome. However, the European Journal of Pain produced a study with animal models which shared how CBD could help relieve certain aspects of pain like arthritis. While this has yet to be proven on human subjects, it is clear CBD touts several beneficial muscles for the human system.

In fact, the human body was meant to take in cannabidiol. With the recent discovery of the human endocannabinoid system, scientists have found and are better understanding how CBD interacts with the body. Essentially, the human body has multiple CB1 and CB2 receptors which are located throughout the body. CB1 receptors are found primarily in the brain and the central nervous system while CB2 receptors are mostly in the peripheral organs, especially cells located within the immune system. All of these important locations these CB receptors set up camp in means more protection from various harmful agents which would come against the body.

CBD is very important to the human endocannabinoid system. In fact, scientists with the U.S. National Institute of Health (NIH), Pal Pacher and George Kunos, suggested in their 2014 publication that modulating the endocannabinoid system may have powerful therapeutic potential for the user.

People who are interested in CBD oil already know a little about the main ingredient, cannabidiol. However, there are more compounds which come in this blend which can have a direct effect, and, when found together are more potent than when they are alone.

#2 – Tetrahydrocannabinol

The reason many people prefer to use CBD oil on a daily basis is because the hemp plant has a high ingredient package of lots of compounds they want and need. However, the hemp plant still does have low doses of tetrahydrocannabinol which can make some people nervous. If a person is shaky to buy full spectrum CBD oil because it has low amounts of THC, and they are worried about the rule of law in this country, they shouldn’t be. According to the Farm Bill of 2018, federal law states the legal limit of THC found in CBD oil needs to be 0.3 percent or less.

Since there is only 0.3 percent of THC found in hemp oil, it still does not create a “high” one would receive from the large amounts of THC found in the marijuana plant. However, it has been reported that people who partake in full spectrum CBD oil and participate in a drug screening that THC could show up. If that is the case, the individual should consider other options like CBD isolate which contains zero THC compound.

#3 – Cannabigerol

Cannabigerol, or CBG, is one of the 120 cannabinoids which are found in the hemp plant as well and it hosts a lot of benefits for the user. While it does present in low doses (1% or less), this is the precursor to both CBD and THC. These two compounds both begin as CBG because both of the cannabis plants produce cannabigerolic acid which eventually begin the three cannabis lines of THCA (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid), CBDA (cannabidiolic acid), and CBCA (cannabichromenic acid). As one will learn, the endocannabinoid system fluctuates to keep the body in homeostasis and CBG has been known to act on these functions in a very important manner. Here are some scientific studies of CBG and how it has been known to help.

CBG, in combination with other cannabinoids are showing high promise as a beneficial cannabinoid for the human body. While more testing is needed, scientists are very excited about the way CBG is interacting with the endocannabinoid system and helping to improve certain aspects of the human body functions.

The Many Ingredients of Hemp

There are over 120 cannabinoids which can be found in the hemp plant. The full spectrum option of CBD oil is the closest one can get to the powerful concoction of the Entourage Effect. People who are willing to research and educate themselves about cannabinoids will soon find out there are several studies which support using CBD, and all of its cannabinoid friends, in their daily routine. The hemp plant hosts a very powerful lineup of compounds which are still being studied in labs today. One should get all of the information they can to help further their education on these cannabinoids and how they can help their body.
