Gold Kratom Guidebook

In the world of Kratom, there’s no shortage of different strains, veins, and colors to choose from.

At Kat’s Botanicals, we pride ourselves in offering the purest, highest-quality Kratom available anywhere. And, we have the lab tests to prove it!

One of the most common questions we get from those new to Kratom has to do with the numerous different varieties that Kratom comes in. From Green Vein to Red Vein and from Maeng Da to Wild Borneo, it seems like there are just too many Kratom categories to keep up with.

To help cut through the noise and provide our customers with reliable, trustworthy facts about Kratom, we’ve developed this guidebook specifically for Gold Kratom. Here, you’ll learn what sets Gold Kratom apart from other strains, and you’ll learn why many Kratom users prefer this kind of Kratom due to the unique combination of benefits it provides.

We are passionate about empowering the world with the Kratom knowledge and history needed to make informed, responsible buying and dosing decisions. We also think Gold Kratom is one of the more sought-after, ‘premium’ Kratom blends out there; read on to find out why.

Gold Kratom, Defined

Let’s start with a definition of Gold Kratom. What exactly is it?

Gold Kratom GuidebookHere’s the short answer: Gold Kratom is a specific blend of Kratom that includes at least two or more different Kratom strains. To confuse things even further, not every Kratom vendor uses the same Kratom strains in their Gold blends. Some can use Red Vein, Green Vein, and White Vein in their Gold Kratom blends, whereas other vendors might opt for a 1:2 ratio of just Red Vein and Green Vein.

The entire idea behind naming a Kratom blend ‘Gold’ is simply to distinguish it as a blend that is different from standalone Kratom products (like strictly Green Vein or strictly Red Vein).

Because Kratom alkaloid profiles change based on the harvesting and drying processes used by Kratom tree farmers, Gold Kratom winds up being a kind of ‘hybridized’ Kratom product that provides a wide spectrum of positive effects.

It’s important to note that the term ‘Gold’ does not refer to Kratom leaf vein coloration. There is no ‘Gold-veined’ Kratom growing in some mythical land in southeast Asia—the reality is, unfortunately, not as exciting.

Many Gold Kratom users do find that this kind of Kratom works well for them. It all boils down to how the body reacts to the alkaloids that are contained in the Kratom blend itself.

The Effects of Gold Kratom

Because of all the different strains that are often included in Gold Kratom blends, the resulting alkaloid profile can be tough to pin down.

Generally speaking, Gold Kratom provides a broad-spectrum suite of benefits, as it is regularly formulated with multiple strain varieties, including:

  • Red Vein Kratom. Red Vein Kratom is heralded for its peaceful, calmness-inducing properties. Red Vein Kratom can refer to the color of the leaf veins before harvesting (most Kratom tree leaves have red veins while they’re still growing), or it can refer to the color of the leaf veins after the drying process is complete.
  • Green Vein Kratom. Green Vein Kratom is known for providing feelings of motivation, enhanced focus, and improved mental acuity. The ‘Green’ in Green Vein Kratom almost always refers to the color of the leaf veins after the drying process (although there is technically a very rare type of Kratom tree that has green-veined leaves while it grows).
  • White Vein Kratom. White Vein Kratom is touted as being the most ‘uplifting’ and ‘morning focus’ kind of Kratom. This is an ideal strain to take earlier in the day, and it’s a fantastic addition to morning coffee or tea. White Vein Kratom strains are made by bringing newly harvested Kratom leaves indoors for a prescribed time (often just a few days), before bringing them back outside for ‘final treatment’ by exposing them to direct sunlight.

From these three vein color varieties, all other Kratom blends are developed. This includes Gold Kratom, which can be a little red, a little green, a lot of white, or some other combination thereof.

Because Gold Kratom is such a menagerie of other Kratom strains, the effects that come from taking Gold Kratom are likely to be a combination of all known Kratom effects.

Gold Kratom Origins

Gold Kratom has probably been in existence in some form or another for hundreds of years, although it might have been called something else entirely before US-based Kratom vendors decided to adopt the ‘Gold’ moniker.

We know that the Kratom tree (Mitragyna Speciosa) has been traditionally used by southeast Asia cultures since at least the 19th century. It grows wild in places like Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia, and it’s often consumed by plucking leaves off the tree and chewing them, or (more commonly) harvesting mature Kratom leaves, drying them, and then grinding them up into a powder.

All that Glitters

Ever since Kratom made its way into western culture, US-based Kratom vendors have used creative terms to market it.

If a Kratom vendor wants to make their Kratom products seem premium, rare, or otherwise outstanding, all they have to do is call it something catchy, like ‘Golden Buddha’ Kratom, or ‘Gold Dust’. Technically speaking, just because the Kratom is a mixture of two or more Kratom varieties, it qualifies as ‘Gold’. Another reason why it might be termed gold is because the resulting color of the blend is gold.

It’s for this reason that Kratom vendor integrity is so important. Because Kratom is not regulated by the FDA like other comparable options, there’s no standard for importing, blending, packaging, or testing it. Literally anyone can locate a Kratom farmer to buy from, import a few kilos of it, blend it together, call it ‘Gold’, and start selling it as such. Nothing is stopping them from doing so, and in fact, it happens all the time!

Kat’s Botanicals is different. We take the time to understand the origins of every Kratom shipment we import from southeast Asia. We learn the histories of the farmers that grow this incredible tree, and we only deal with long-standing, reputable Kratom cultivators that have a proven track record of supplying only the cleanest, purest Kratom in the region.

We understand that there is a lot of ambiguity in Kratom naming. Even more important than the blend of Kratom is safety and purity of the Kratom in question. This is why we invest heavily into third-party lab testing of all of the Gold Kratom we sell.

Gold Kratom Formats

gold kratom extractSome people love taking Gold Kratom in raw powder format. They just mix it in with their beverage of choice and drink it down. Typically, the positive benefits are realized within 30 minutes to an hour after consumption.

Others prefer to dose their Gold Kratom in capsules. This eliminates the mess involved in having to spoon out loose powder, and it provides more discretion for traveling and portability.

Across the Kratom industry, Gold Vein Kratom is generally available in at least five different formats:

  • Crushed leaf
  • Stem-and-vein
  • Loose powder
  • Encapsulated powder
  • Extracts

Crushed Leaf Gold Kratom is not as fine as powdered Kratom, and is used to make brewed Kratom teas.

Stem-and-vein Gold Kratom includes more of the native plant material, resulting in a slightly modified alkaloid profile.

Loose Powder Gold Kratom is the most common format of Gold Kratom, and it easily dissolves into water, juice, or coffee.

Encapsulated Powder Gold Kratom comes in per-pill dosages of between 500 mg and a full gram each.

Gold Kratom Extracts are highly concentrated distillations of blended Kratom. Gold Kratom Extracts are recommended only for veteran Kratom users who already know how their bodies react to consumption of the Kratom plant.

How Much Gold Kratom to Take

Gold Kratom should be dosed just like any other variety of Kratom (except extracts). The general rule is to ‘Start low and go slow’, beginning with a default dosage size of about 2.4 grams (about the same size as a level teaspoon of loose powder).

It’s advised to wait until the effects of a 2.4-gram dose of Gold Kratom are realized before modifying the dose. Also, it’s important to limit your consumption of Gold Kratom to no more than two, 2.4-gram doses in any given 24-hour period. This helps to keep tolerance low so you get the most out of your Kratom dosing regimen.

Lab-Tested Gold Kratom vs. Cheaper Options

Because Gold Kratom is a mixture of multiple strains of Kratom, it’s that much more important to ensure that you get your Gold Kratom from a vendor that employs strict, regular testing of their Kratom products.

Kat’s Botanicals conducts thorough batch testing on all the Kratom we import from southeast Asia. We trust Tested Labs to screen our Kratom using state-of-the-art technology to detect contaminants like heavy metals, bacteria, and other pathogens.

When you buy Gold Kratom from Kat’s Botanicals, you’re getting the cleanest, purest, most consistent Kratom money can buy. That’s the Kat’s difference!

We look forward to helping you on your journey to enhanced wellness with Kratom. If you have any questions about Gold Kratom or any other Kratom product we sell, don’t hesitate to ask.
