  2. What We Test For

At Kat’s Botanicals, we take our CBD quality very seriously, and we don’t want you to just take our word for it. In an effort to provide the highest quality of CBD possible and to also be ethical leaders in the CBD market, every one of our batches is third-party tested and verified. Here’s what that means for you.

Why We Test

The CBD market is largely unregulated; that means each company is responsible for providing its customers with the highest possible standard of product. While all legal CBD products should have less than 0.3% THC levels, an unregulated market means that this is not always the case for some companies. It’s our goal to lead the CBD market with integrity and transparency and that is the heart of our business model.

We ensure each of our batches is third-party tested by Altitude Consulting. This company exceeds industry standards in their testing, providing verified results you can count on. Because we’ve partnered with a third party, our customers can rest assured they’re getting reliable, objective test results for each of our CBD batches.

How We Test

Altitude Consulting puts its employees’ combined years of chemical and scientific research to work. Using verified extraction methods and analytical chemistry to evaluate each product, Altitude Consulting tests for CBD content and overall cannabinoid content. They also test for the presence of metals, microbes, and residual solvents. Each of these categories is important for determining the efficacy and safety of our CBD products.

The following are the specific criteria we test for in all of our CBD products.

CBD Content

Altitude Consulting uses sophisticated liquid chromatography methods to test for and verify the mean and the average CBD amount in each of our batches. This enables us to know that all our products are market ready.

We source our products from hemp high in CBD content and low in THC levels. This ensures our customers get the full spectrum of CBD benefits without worrying about THC content. Our CBD products contain less than 0.3% of THC.

Overall Cannabinoid Profile

Altitude Consulting also uses its liquid chromatography methods to determine the overall cannabinoid profile for each of our broad- and full-spectrum products. Not only does this ensure our clients are getting the full spectrum benefits they’re paying for, but it also ensures that the THC content in each of our products is well below the legal limits prescribed by the 2018 Agricultural Improvement Act. Here are just a few of the cannabinoids that Altitude Consulting profiles for us:

  • Cannabidiol (CBD)

  • Cannabinol (CBN)

  • Cannabigerol (CBG)

  • Cannabidivarin (CBDV)

  • Cannabidiolic acid (CBD-A)

  • Cannabichromene (CBC)

  • Tetrahydrocannabivarin (THCV)

  • Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)

Microbes and Mycotoxins

We analyze all our products to determine there are no microorganisms that can compromise our customers’ health. Altitude Consulting ensures our products contain no salmonella, E-coli, mycotoxins (such as toxins produced by yeast or mold), staphylococcus aureus, shiga toxins, or listeria monocytgenes. Through this rigorous testing, we protect the safety of our clients and ensure our products are the best CBD products currently on the market.

Residual Solvents

Altitude Consulting tests our products for the presence of any residual solvents using GC/MS technologies. Extracting CBD from hemp involves the use of solvents, but these are removed at the final distillation process.

Some of the solvents tested for include acetone, benzene, isobutane, butane, chloroform, heptane, ethanol, carbon tetrachloride, acetonitrile, hexane, xylenes, propane, toluene, isopentane, tetrahydrofuran, and 2-propanol.

Quality First

At Kats Botanicals, we ensure the quality, efficacy, and safety of all our products. We’re committed to leading the CBD industry in transparency, quality CBD education, ethical conduct, and effective product supply.
