The average Kratom user should stay educated and informed about the growth and setbacks of this plant at all times. It’s important to keep up with current events in your local area and also on the federal level.
But how much should I know?
In short, you should know as much as you can about this plant. You never know when you will have the opportunity to share your knowledge and information with a stranger in town. On that note, you never know when you will be standing in front of a state or federal representative and you may have to defend Kratom or educate them about Kratom.
Kats Botanicals believes every Kratom user should know a little bit about the plant they are consuming on a daily basis, and we have dissected some of the most important questions about Kratom we feel you should always know.
Question #1 – What Is Kratom Powder?
Every Kratom user should know about what they are putting into their body. The only way we feel you have an out with this question is if you are brand new to the plant and just getting to know it.
If this is the case, you should know Kratom is a tree leaf from Southeast Asia and is also related to the coffee plant.
Kratom is harvested mostly in regions in and around Indonesia, northern Malaysian peninsulas and all the way to Borneo. Kratom loves these regions because the hot and humid environment allows it to thrive and grow into the tree you love.
Question #2 – Is Kratom Legal in My State?
It seems as though the legality of Kratom is always in fluctuation.
The good news is the people at the BEA and the AKA are always on point with their lobbyists and making sure they are always on the ground when a Kratom topic gets mentioned on both the state and federal level.
You should always know if Kratom is legal in your state before you begin your purchase. Kats Botanicals will not ship to a state in which Kratom is banned.
Currently, we have an updated list of the states (and cities) in which Kratom is not eligible for purchase.
Question #3 – What Can I Do To Keep Kratom Legal?
On the heels of the Kratom legality topic, we want to stress how important it is for you to be active in Kratom advocacy.
We want all of our customers to graduate from being simply users of Kratom, to advocates as well. This means actively making calls and staying on point with your local and federal representatives who have the power to make decisions on your behalf.
Here’s what you can do: (This will be a bullet list)
- Use Resistbot on Facebook to send messages to your representatives. You can also text Resistbot on your mobile device at 50409 and follow their instructions to send your message this way.
- Call your representative a couple of times a week to let them know how Kratom has helped you. You can also make sure they are on top of the latest news and scientific reports on Kratom. Find your representative now.
- Donate $5/week to the Botanical Education Alliance or the American Kratom Association – These people are in the trenches every day for every one of us and it’s important to show our support by helping them with the funds they need to continue the process of keeping Kratom legal.
- Tell your friends and neighbors – Ignorance is one of the top reasons why many in this country don’t understand about Kratom. This is also a good reason why you should stay updated on current affairs and scientific research released about Kratom so you can help spread the message.
Don’t be an average Kratom user. Be an active one with a passion for this plant! We need every person who uses Kratom to continue to be advocates and band together as one.
Question #4 – What Is Tolerance?
If you have been using Kratom for a little while you may have heard the word tolerance before. If not, you will because tolerance is something every Kratom user should think about.
Tolerance is when you piggyback one strain for a length of time without switching. The Kratom user starts out taking smaller doses of the strain, but ends up having to take a larger dose because their tolerance level has risen.
When this happens, stagnant strain syndrome (or same strain syndrome) occurs.
Tolerance is what you want to avoid. In order to do this make sure you stockpile your Kratom. Meaning you will always have a variety of different strains to try. Here at Kats Botanicals you always have the opportunity to buy Kratom for sale and that will help, but even if you need to order smaller amounts of various strains to accomplish this task, you should.
Switching up your strains daily will help keep tolerance away and allow you to enjoy Kratom like a pro.
Question #5 – Does Kratom Have A Long Shelf Life?
In essence, yes. But you must understand how to store it.
For those of you who have a lot of Kratom on hand, make sure you have it stored in a cool dry place. This way your Kratom will stay fresh and last longer for you. Many people store it in different ways – ziploc bags, glass jars, etc., it just depends on what your preference is and how you plan to use it.
Question #6 – What Are The Best Kratom Strains?
This is an ongoing discussion with the entire Kratom community. Since you are a unique individual, you will eventually have your own opinion about what is best for you.
The only way to discover this answer is to try as many strains as you can and make an educated opinion. Kratom is an individual experience in which you must test for yourself.
We do have some recommendations for you:
Question #7 – Is Kratom Lab Testing Important?
You should never purchase Kratom from a vendor who doesn’t do rigorous testing on their merchandise.
Here at Kats Botanicals we take pride in testing our Kratom to make sure you are getting quality at all times. Our founder, Justin Kats, has admitted to tossing out thousands of dollars worth of Kratom because the quality was not what he wanted.
This is the kind of vendor you want to be purchasing from. We are proud to say if it doesn’t meet our standards, we don’t use it.
Question #8 – What’s The Purpose of Stem & Vein?
Stem and vein Kratom, while probably not the most popular selling type of merchandise in the Kratom community is one with important properties you should know about.
While Kratom is derived from the leaf of the plant, and has its own makeup of alkaloidal properties, the stem and vein of this plant has its own unique makeup as well and is quite different from the leaf material in which you are so used to taking.
What’s important about the stem and vein Kratom are these different alkaloids which aren’t prevalent in the basic leaf material.
Because of its scientific structure, stem and vein takes longer for the body to process and/or digest. Understanding this fact, you begin to realize that stem and vein stays in the body a lot longer than regular Kratom leaf (about 50% longer to be exact).
Experienced Kratom users will also mix stem and vein Kratom to reset tolerance levels as well which comes as a big help.
Question #9 – Why Is The FDA Worried About Kratom?
According to the FDA’s advisory they said, “Evidence shows that Kratom has similar effects to narcotics like opioids, and carries similar risks of abuse, addiction and in some cases, death.”
Currently, there isn’t any reliable information to back up their claims about this plant, and, scientific research (here and here) has proven to negate almost every one of the FDA’s claims against Kratom.
But we agree with the FDA over one claim. They have found several vendors and businesses who sell Kratom who are making medical claims about the plant and this is one practice we disagree with.
What Do You Think?
As a Kratom user, or a potential Kratom powder user, there are certain things about this plant you need to know. For me, these are the top of the list on the education seekers mind.
